    Job Description:
    We are looking for an experienced Lead Network Programmer for the Warhammer 40,000 MMO. The ideal candidate must have expert knowledge of and experience in the design, implementation and continuing support of large scale client/server applications. Extensive experience with multi-tier client/server architecture and scalable distributed systems is required. Warhammer 40,000 is one of the richest IP's in the world and Vigil is building one of the most ambitious game worlds ever conceived.     Core Responsibilities

    Implement network-synchronized game code including enemy behaviors, player interaction, vehicles, etc.

    Maintain and extend the development of our current game networking systems.

    Design and implement distributed simulation systems.

    Work with other programmers to interface with all project subsystems, including character control, AI, and physics.

    Skills & Qualifications

    Minimum of 5 to 10 years professional software development experience writing client / server applications in C++

    Expertise in Unix/Linux/Win32 Operating systems

    Expertise in building multithreaded, multi-process real-time systems

    Expertise with client/server message passing architectures

    Experience tuning real-time server systems for performance and reliability

    Experience with distributed object models

    Experience with authority transfer issues associated with distributed systems

    Experience with persistence of distributed systems

    Experience coding in highly threaded, asynchronous distributed environments.

    Prior experience implementing network gameplay over TCP/IP or UDP protocols.

    Pluses

    Previous experience working on a shipped MMO title.

    Passion for creating online games.
